This is a wonderful vintage jug and matching goblet by Laurie Short

Born in Devon in 1947 Laurie trained at Harrow School of Art 1971-73 and worked for Danny Killick and Bryan Newman

Distinctive speckled glaze with dark brown design on the body with applied strap handle

The base is unglazed and reveals that the underlying ceramic body is slightly gritty in form and grayish brown in colour

On the edge there is an impressed monogram, with the letters ‘L’ and ‘S’ in relief.

Glazed inside to hold liquids

Jug 26.5cm tall, Goblet 13cm high.

Bears the impressed marks for Laurie Short.
